How to Get to Subga Lagoon: A Complete Guide

Subga Lagoon is a bit of a journey from General Luna,

but it’s absolutely worth the trip!

Here’s how you can plan your visit:

1️⃣ Arrange Transportation to Subga Lagoon

Since Subga Lagoon is located about an hour away,

it’s essential to schedule your transportation the day before.

We arranged a ride with a tricycle (tuktuk) driver for 2,000 pesos round-trip.

The road is a bit challenging, with some steep ups and downs,

so if you’re riding a motorbike or using a tuktuk,

expect a bumpy, adventurous ride.

2️⃣ Arriving at the Pier

After the hour-long drive, you’ll arrive at the pier,

where you’ll need to take a boat to reach the lagoon.

  • The boat costs 2,150 pesos for up to 6 people – it’s a good idea to gather a group of friends to split the cost.
  • There’s also a pier tax of 260 pesos per person.

3️⃣ The Boat Ride to Subga Lagoon

Once it’s your turn, the boat ride will take around 30 minutes.

You’ll be treated to stunning views along the way.

The calm waters and surrounding landscapes make for a scenic journey.

4️⃣ Exploring Subga Lagoon

When you arrive at the lagoon, you’re allowed to stay for up to 3 hours.

  • Keep in mind that bringing food or drinks is not permitted.
  • The lagoon’s beauty is breathtaking, with crystal-clear blue waters surrounded by lush nature.
  • There’s no beach here, but tables are set up in the middle of the lagoon where you can relax.

5️⃣ Kayaking in Subga Lagoon

One of the best ways to explore the lagoon is by renting a kayak.

  • Regular kayaks are available for 300 pesos per hour.
  • Crystal-clear kayaks are available for 500 pesos per hour for a premium experience.

I highly recommend taking a round tour of the lagoon by kayak,

where you’ll witness incredible natural sights that are truly unique to the area.

6️⃣ Timing Your Trip to Subga Lagoon

It’s best to start your journey early in the day to avoid the

afternoon rain, which can make the return trip trickier.

This will also give you ample time to fully enjoy your

3-hour stay at the lagoon.

🌟 Final Thoughts on Visiting Subga Lagoon

While the journey to Subga Lagoon takes some planning and investment,

it’s absolutely worth it!

The combination of the serene boat ride, stunning blue waters,

and the chance to kayak through the lagoon’s natural beauty

makes this an unforgettable experience.

If you’re in Siargao, make sure you don’t miss this hidden gem in nature!
